Our Story
Irma the Sheep was born in Greece, but its story goes back to the English countryside. Two girls, Ir and Ma, first encounter each other amidst a large crowd during their postgraduate studies. The first day goes by in no time at all. They make their first sortie into the shopping center and their quest for a duvet cover acts as a catalyst for what will prove to be a strong friendship. This very same duvet cover, overprinted with small black sheep becomes the inspiration for the creation of Irma the Sheep many years later.
Following their studies, Ir and Ma return to Greece and begin working for large organizations while starting their own families. One day, the duvet cover falls into their hands and makes them reminisce about their old days together. That’s when they decide to sit together again, this time to attend sewing and patchwork classes.
New challenges arise when they try to thread the needle and make a neat stitch. The first cushions, boasting their kids’ initials, finally make their way onto their sofas. And that’s only the beginning. New ideas pop up and sewing machines are set on fire. In April 2020, during the COVID-19 blanket lockdown, they decide to introduce their creations to the world, and in March 2021, Irma the Sheep is officially born. The duvet cover with all those teeny black sheep binds Ir and Ma forever.
The Vision
Ir and Ma’s love for fabric, coupled with their fascination with the numerous ways it can be transformed into a get-away vehicle, becomes their mission. They want Irma's playful mood to be present at every moment of the day, to serve as an escape from routine, to become a meeting point for the whole family, and eventually a source of joy and inspiration for young and old alike.
The Products
Placing emphasis on aesthetic appeal, Irma the Sheep produces handmade items of high quality with materials and stitching that respect the environment. Supporting the Greek market is of primary concern and all its products are designed and sewn exclusively in Greece. Irma the Sheep offers an original collection of accessories and home goods with unique textures, prints, and designs that make practical items playful.
Sustainability
We want our children to inherit a better world. We believe in simplicity and we maintain a small-scale production. Committing to environmental sustainability, we make a point of generating the least possible waste. Among other things, we create original reusable products to meet everyday needs with a view to reducing waste. We are constantly seeking new ways of packaging our products in order to minimize our carbon footprint.

Every year, we participate in charity events, offering free products. We want to fill our community with smiley faces and therefore, we will continue to actively support such endeavors.
